Course 2 – Alcohol and tobacco: Effects on Infants and Children

The course modules review the following:

  • biological effects of alcohol and tobacco exposure (e.g. alcohol-related birth defects and health effects of environmental tobacco smoke)
  • scope and epidemiology of alcohol and tobacco use effects on the infant and children population
  • social and economic impacts of alcohol and tobacco use on the infant and child population
  • screening and intervention for effects of alcohol and tobacco exposure
  • program planning and evaluation tools that address programs on alcohol and tobacco exposure in infants and children

This course is currently available for both credit and Continuing Education Units.
